Story Book for Children

While I'm submitting this to publishers through the usual channels, I wanted to bring this to life now...while my children are still young enough to appreciate it.

I hope yours are too. If you like what you see and hear--the superb illustrations are by Bethany Gully and the text beautifully narrated by Eileen Stevens--then I hope you leave me your feedback. If we get enough parents and kids excited, who knows, we won't need to go to a publisher. Perhaps they will come to us.

Please leave your comments, thoughts, and whether you would like to see more of the little flying girl's adventures. This is the only post for this blog, as it is mainly to provide parents and kids a place to experience a new story.

Great book John. My daughter Gianna (age 4) really liked it. I loved the illustrations.

My problem is that only the worst sort of hymns buzz.

this is beautifully done, John. I passed it on to another friend who is a writer and young mother.

what are you using to play the video?

Thanks, writebrained! I'm basically using Flash, because it has the widest user base. Didn't want to annoy people with having to download plug-ins for different players....

After viewing this whimsical tale, I cannot imagine any little girl not getting on top of her bed and blinking her eyes and expecting to soar... Well done, John!

Lovely story, superb pictures, and wonderfully in-character narration! The text covered a bit too wide a range of vocabulary (eg gawk) and sophistication (eg wake the dead) to maintain a smooth flow for me, though. Any chance of achieving the same charming effect with simpler language?

John,

A great idea. I would be interested in cooperating with you as a writer, and as a parent of two girls, to move this model forward. Let me know how I can contact you.
